LWSC BoD Assures Rapid Repair of Damaged Infrastructure

The Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation (LWSC) has reassured the public that significant progress is being made to restore normal water supply following damage to a critical 36-inch transmission pipeline serving large parts of the capital. The Chairman of LWSC Board of Directors, Dr. Khalifa Bility, has appealed to the general public and users of LWSC services to kindly exercise patience as the LWSC works around the clock to repair the damaged infrastructure. The disruption has affected thousands of residents, raising concerns about access to safe and reliable water.

According to Dr. Bility the corporation remains fully committed to resolving the issue as swiftly as possible. He emphasized that engineers and technicians have been deployed in full force, utilizing both local expertise and available resources to ensure a durable and long-term solution. “Our citizens can be confident that within the next few days, we will all once again have access to water,” Dr. Bility assured, expressing optimism about the pace of the ongoing work.

During a recent visit to the repair site, the Chairman described the situation as critical, citing the aging condition of parts of the infrastructure and the complexity of the damage. He noted that the pipeline plays a vital role in supplying water across multiple communities, making its restoration a top national priority. Dr. Bility also took time to commend the dedication and resilience of the LWSC workforce, many of whom have been working extended hours under challenging conditions to restore services.

“The sacrifices being made by our team will not go unnoticed,” he stated. “Their commitment today is laying the foundation for a stronger, more reliable water system for future generations.” He further highlighted that management takes absolute pride in the competence and professionalism of the workforce, describing them as the backbone of the corporation’s operations.

Residents have been urged to conserve any available water during this period and to remain cooperative as repair efforts continue. As repair work progresses, the corporation has pledged to keep the public informed through regular updates, reinforcing its commitment to transparency and service delivery.
