Southeast Water To Be Restored

As part of his recent visit to Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County, Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation Deputy Managing Director for Administration, T. Wilson Gaye toured the water supply facility in the city. The aim was to assess the level of work needed to be done to refurbish the system which remained unattended, unmaintained, and therefore nonfunctional for more than 6 years.

Gaye was accompanied by a technical services team headed by Outstation Supervisor, James Gaye who earmarked the magnitude of resources and equipment the Corporation needed to deploy to resuscitate the system’s booster. While there, the Deputy Managing Director for Administration interacted with workers assigned to the County and encouraged them to continue to be effective and efficient in their service delivery to clients.

He informed them that the entity has been mandated to ensure the public have access to good water and proper sanitation in line with President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development. Gaye stressed: “The work we have been called to do is aligned with the larger plan of President Joseph Nyumah Boakai to improve water supply to the people regardless of where they reside.”

The Deputy Managing Director for Administration divulged that over the next 5 years, the Corporation’s administration would remain committed to ensuring that water facilities in Maryland, Sinoe, River Gee and Grand Kru Counties are restored.

If they are put in place, the systems would help boost Government revenue, create local jobs, and improve sanitation and personal hygiene, he assured his entourage.
