ORGANIZATIONAL POLICIES AND PROCEDURES REVISION ENDS IN BUCHANAN

Following the appointment of a new Management of the Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation, LWSC, conscious efforts have been made to reposition the public utility on a path of efficient service provision and receptive to the demands of its customers and the Geneal public.

Understandably, the administrative machinery of the LWSC in recent years has been much bloated and low results drive owing to unnecessary expansion in staff size; creation of multiple layers in decision-making processes; weak mechanism to make individual staff accountable; and low level of motivation of staff.

In parallel, developing coherent workflows and adopting a new technology to increase staff performance have also remained critical to the Corporation.

To address these critical challenges, the LWSC has begun a three-day retreat to review its Organizational policies and procedures in the Port City of Buchanan.

The retreat, on the overall, seeks to initiate a pathway that will lead to an enhanced operational efficiency through increased staff engagement, improved performance, creativity and innovation.

Specifically, the three days LWSC Buchanan stay look to achieve amongst other objectives, the creating a forum for diverse stakeholders to build an informed consensus, using best practices, on the draft policy frameworks to promote and sustain corporate efficiency and develop a roll out strategy for the implementation of the new Administrative and operational outlook of the LWSC.

In attendance at the Buchanan retreat are representations of LWSC Senior Management, in-house Management and Human Resource Consultants as well as External Consultants and Facilitators.
